California Baby Sunscreen Review
I picked up a couple of tubes of California Baby No Fragrance SPF30+ Sunscreen Lotion before we left for our recent trip to Mexico, and I'm glad I did. This is serious stuff. Although the consistency is a little tricky to apply - it's very thick and white, almost like glue - it lasts and lasts. Since my two active toddlers were in the sun much of the day, I reapplied a couple of times without worrying too much about blending it in. I just slapped it on to make sure they were covered. If it's not blended in, it looks very white, almost like the stuff that surfers used to put on their noses, but it does blend in fairly well. On babies though, since you don't want to keep rubbing and rubbing (they won't sit still long enough) there was always a whitish cast. But what I love about this sunscreen is that it really, really lasts. As a matter of fact, I found it almost impossible to wash off. (Not so great when I got it in their hair, but fabulous on the skin). I really needed to scrub a little with a washcloth for it to come off, which means its EXTREMELY water resistant and offers very, very good protection. A new beach staple for me, though a little too hard to apply for every day.
